Dublin Bars and Pubs
Dublin is simply jam packed with all kinds of pubs and bars. It is worth visiting one of the many traditional pubs with their wooden upholstered interiors and invitingly cosy atmospheres. There is nothing like a good pint of Guinness by an open fire or in a corner snug at a traditional Irish pub. There are also a variety of modern late night bars offering light snacks and club music until the early hours. The city has recently seen an enormous rise in "gastro pubs" where guests can enjoy good quality pub food in very nice surroundings.
The pub or bar in Dublin is very much a social venue. On weekends it is very common to find whole families with young children having some lunch over a few drinks in their "local." Thursday nights tend to be "work nights out" where the tradition is for work colleagues to meet up for a "few pints." Thursdays in particular can be very busy and it would not be strange to see crowds spilling out pub doorways. And of course you could also choose to enjoy local Dubliners on weekends when going out for a few drinks is the done thing to relax and unwind.
